Victoria Park v Dpr Away 8th January 2012

Victoria Park 1 - 3 DPR

Dpr travelled to Hackney for a tough game against Victoria Park. The game started with Dpr putting Victoria Park under pressure for most of the first half, with some excellent football being played. Victoria Park scored on the break 5 minutes before half time, leaving Dpr 1-0 down. Dpr started the second half determined to make a come back, Brandon Hubbard pulled the strings in mid-field, backed up by Joseph Mackman, Mussa Deveji, Dylan Darbin, Josh Harrison, Mwumba Nkonde, Kester Anumba and Josh Bragg. After a superb move down the right side Josh Bragg found Kai Weston unmarked on the edge of the box who hit a lovely shot off the post. We thought this was going to be a bad day for us, seeing as we had been the better team for the majority of the game. The equaliser was another move down the right side with some slick passing and interplay with a great finish from Kai Weston. Dpr came under pressure for a 10 minute spell with defenders Charlie Caines, Tariq Saoudi, Jack Sawyer, Thomas Hanaway and Alex Hithersay all battling to keep the score 1-1. Goal keeper Daniel Wheeler made a couple of fantastic saves as Dpr started to run the game again. Kieron Coles came on the pitch to score a lovely cross/shot making it 2-1. Two minutes later Kieron found the net again after the keeper fumbled from a shot by Brandon Hubbard. 3-1 was a well deserved victory for Dpr, out-playing Victoria Park with a great team display.

Man of the match went to Brandon Hubbard.

 Dpr 5 - 2 Tigers

Sundays game was a hard fort battle in very windy conditions, captain Jack Sawyer won the toss and opted to play against the wind in the first half . Dpr started slow as the tigers team went looking for their first win of the season, 15 minutes in  Tigers took the lead and just before half time made it 2 - 0.

The second half began with dpr starting to show a bit more fight and it wasn't long before Josh Bragg crossed the ball from a corner and Josh Harrison scored a great header, 5 minutes later Dylan Darbin made it 2 - 2,  it was only a matter of time before dpr took the lead with a superb shot from outside the box by Josh Harrison. The fourth came from the penalty spot from Joe Mackman and Kai Weston made it 5 with good turn and shot.

All the boys showed plenty of fight to come back from 2 - 0 down.

It wasn't a good performance, however it was a good win to which the whole team can be proud of.

Myself and Lee moaned about the bad performance, but they still managed to grind out a result.

Well done boys, we still have plenty of hard work to do at training to get ready for our semi final against Leaside Colts.

Team Line Up   Daniel, Charlie, Jack, Thomas, Alex, Tariq, Kai P, Joe, Brandon, Josh B, Josh H Mussa, Dylan, Kester, Kai W, Kieron.

Man of the match - Josh Harrison

playing Away to Barking Colts Cup Game 20.11.11

Barking Colts 1 - 4 DPR

Weeks of attention, care and encouragement to grow and develop our team pay's off.

We noticed some faces of amazement regards to the team starting line up today, especially given our careful choices for the subs bench. It goes to prove that ALL of our U11's players can do a fantastic job for their team, given time to develop and settle into position, even if the position chosen for them may seem a little bit of a big ask.

A can't ask better team performance from every player, fantastic back line defence from Caines, Hannaway, Saoudi and starting team captain Hithersay then Sawyer.

Fantastic Goalkeeping by Wheeler. Domination in mid field from Hubbard, Harrison, Coles, Anumba, Deveji and Mackman. Up top Weston, Powell, Darbin and Bragg.

2 goals from Bragg 1 Goal from Powell and the first but not the last from Harrison

Team Line Up   Daniel, Charlie, Jack, Thomas, Alex, Tariq, Kai P, Joe, Brandon, Josh B, Josh H Mussa, Dylan, Kester, Kai W, Kieron.

Man of the match goes to Hannerway for a totally outstanding performance in defence

Thanks to Chris Hithersay for running the line

DPR Home to  Redbridge United Sunday 18th September 2011

DPR 3 - 3 Redridge

A terrific start to the new seaon with a battling display against a resilient Redbridge.

DPR started the 2011/12 season with a hard fought 3 - 3 draw.

The first half was a battle of the midfield in which DPR dominated with superb displays from
Hubbard, Josh, Josh Kai and Kyron. They were in there to stand up to the opposition in every challenge which they won!!!

DPR went one nil up with an excellent solo run form Kyron Coles down the right, into the box and slipped it past the Redbridge keeper. We were soon 2 up after Tommy Pale got the second goal on his debut.

Our defence were on form as were their crucial tackles from Sawyer, Papps and Caines with Mackman just in front
to deny Redbridge any chance of finding a way through, until they had a free kick just outside the area, before the break which finished 2 - 1 to DPR.

After the break we went 3 - 1 up with Kyron Coles obliging again with a deft left foot past the keeper.

Daniel Wheeler was kept on his toes with some superb goalkeeping.

A few subs were made with Mussa down the left, Dylon on the right causing problems for the Redbridge Defence.
Alex, Thomas, Kester and Tariq also battled on the field through the second half. But Redbridge fought back to score a second goal then were rewarded with a penalty and scored to make a 3 - 3 draw.

All the boys had a fantastic game with some quality passing and ball control which was a pleasure to watch by
all families and supporters.

Well Done Boys
